Get a sneak peek of the largest exhibition to be held on the pioneering American performance and video artist

THOUGH ORIGINALLY TRAINED as a sculptor, New York-born artist Joan Jonas only rose to prominence in the late 1960s through her pioneering performance and video art.

Ms. Jonas’s work, which continues to surprise, amuse and provoke, is being celebrated by Milan’s vast HangarBicocca art museum in the largest retrospective of her career.

Entitled “Light Time Tales,” the show gathers together 10 installations and nine videos dating from the beginning of her career to the present.
